On Saturday night I went out with Charlotte, Julian and Eirik to celebrate his birthday.
Eirik has been experimenting with "raw food" lately and wanted to try a place in Highgate called "Dragonfly Wholefoods".
I've always thought that it was an organic food shop and juice bar. I didn't know that they had so much space at the back and that they served such delicious food. They have a good selection of vegetarian, vegan and raw dishes. They also make a variety of juices and smoothies. Everything is subject to availability, so for example if the avocados aren't ripe enough there is no guacamole. I thought it was fine though; there was plenty to chose from.
I ordered raw falafel salad. I was pleasently surprised by the refreshing taste of the salad and the explosion of nutty flavours of the falafels.
The best time to eat there is between 12pm and 6pm. Their website states that they are open until 8pm, but the owner told us that they need to update the information. She said that they don't have enough business later in the evening so nowadays they close at 7pm.
It is definitely worth a try if you are in Highgate. Just stop by for a juice or a "raw cake"! The atmosphere is positively relaxed :)
My raw falafel.
Vegetarian goat cheese lasagne and quinoa.
Strawberry cheesecake and raspberry and chocolate raw cake. Happy Birthday Eirik!
