Tommy had the brilliant idea to make French toast out of a panettone Giulia brought back at Christmas. So good!!! It also works well as a base for trifle. We get so much panettone over Christmas that after a while we have to come up with alternative ideas to finish them off :)
On Friday night, after two pints at the Wheterspoons near the office, I was not only starving, but also craving chicken wings... We ended up at Yildiz on Blackstock Road. When Giulia and Tommy found out where I was, they rushed down, too. We had chicken wings, lamb ribs, liver, turkish sausage, salads, dips and scrumptious bread basted in the juices of the (real charcoal) barbecue meat. Very satisfactory and reasonably priced :)
One for sorrow, Two for joy, Three for a girl, Four for a boy. Five for silver, Six for gold, Seven for a secret never to be told. Eight for a wish, Nine for a kiss, Ten a surprise you should be careful not to miss. Eleven for health, Twelve for wealth, Thirteen beware it's the devil himself.
Little girls, this seems to say, never stop upon your way, never trust a stranger friend, no one knows how it will end! As you're pretty, so be wise! Wolves may lurk in every guise! Now, as then, it's simple truth, sweetest tongue has sharpest tooth!
that table looks life a feast! :)
