PANDA KOPANDA

This is my favourite! I've only posted one episode, but they are all available on youtube. They also have the English-dubbed version. So sweet!

BY THE WAY...

I forgot to mention (how could I?!) that I went to see "The Cure" on Thursday night.
I had a very stressing and long day at work and I was considering not to go. Then Odhran came to meet me with the tickets (he thought he had lost them and found them at the last minute!!!) and so I sleep-followed him to Wembley. Cat was already there with Wayne and texted me saying that the band would have been on stage at 8pm! I arrived at 8:05... just on time! They started playing as soon as I took off my coat. The gig was amazing. It went on for over 3 hours and they played everything!!! So good!!! Big Bob and co are still super cool after 30 years. Evvai Robertone!!!

HAPPY WHITE EASTER?!

It is unbelievably cold. I went out today and it was bloody freezing. What's going on? Fair enough Easter falls early this year, but it is colder than it was at Xmas! Today I was wearing the same clothes I was wearing in NY last December.
I went for dim-sum at Shanghai Blues, near Holborn and I could see sleeth and wind blowing the umbrellas off people while I was eating. Tommy got caught in the storm! I wanted to go in town for a walk, but it was too cold. I went to Selfridges, bought Easter eggs and came straight back home. I finally managed to put away all my clothes, so my bedroom doesn't look like a messy charity shop any longer.
I want to go to the cinema to see "The Orphanage". Maybe I'll go tomorrow. I'm not sure. This year I haven't made plans for Easter. I've been invited by Yuri to a party at his restaurant off Clerkenwell, but I don't fancy drinking and I know that if I go I will get carried away...
I am so happy that we have 4 days off in a row. I just want to relax and take it easy.
I have found some new recipes, which are really good. I have made them both twice already and they always turned out successfully. The first one is "Chicken with Tarragon". This is a mix between a roast and a stew. The chicken is cooked with olives, lemon, pancetta, white wine and tarragon. As a side dish to this recipe I prepare "New Potatoes with Mustard". These are very easy to make and super tasty. You just need to coat the new potatoes with wholegrain mustard and chopped onion and then bake them in the oven. I've made these for Cat and Giulia and they both seemed to like them a lot.
The third recipe I found is "Coconut Tart". The hard part is to prepare the shortcrust pastry, but the rest is easy and fast. This tart is very nice, kind of like a big macaroon.

THIS MAKES ME ANGRY...

... and I hope it makes you angry, too.

I am, most of the times, a peaceful person. I try to be fair and honest as much as I can. I am not perfect. In fact, far from it. I live comfortably, I eat more than I should and I have everything I need. This could be said of many other people and it is not necessarily a negative thing.
I am aware that many people aren't as lucky as I am and I know I could do more.
The recent news about the political situation in Tibet awoke feelings of sadness, guilt and anger within myself.
I have listed a few facts here and I hope these will make a few bells ring within your souls as well.
  • Since 1950, an estimated 1.2 million Tibetans have been killed by the Chinese. China has ratified a number of UN conventions, including those related to torture and racial discrimination, and yet has repeatedly violated these in China and Tibet.
  • Chinese has replaced Tibetan as the official language. Young Tibetans are being re-educated about their cultural past, with references to an independent Tibet being omitted.
  • The 1982 Constitution of the People's Republic of China guarantees freedom of religious belief, but China seeks to restrict the numbers of monks and nuns entering monasteries and to discredit the religious authority of Dalai Lama. The child recognised as the reincarnation of the Panchen Lama was rejected and the Chinese installed their own candidate. Read more about the real Panchen Lama here: http://www.freetibet.org/campaigns/panchen/index.html (It is terrible. I suggest you read this)
  • China's predominant interest in Tibet is no longer ideological, but is based on resource extraction and land for Chinese colonists. Mining and mineral extraction is the largest economic activity in both U'Tsang and Amdo and at least one-half of Tibet's natural forest has gone since Chinese occupation.
  • Long-term Chinese settlement in Tibet has been deliberately encouraged, with the result that Tibetans are in the minority in many areas. Independent research puts the number of Chinese in the TAR at 5 5.5 million versus 4.5 million Tibetans; in Kham and Amdo, Chinese outnumber Tibetans many times over. Chinese traders are favoured by lower tax assessments and the dominant position of Chinese in government administration.

GREEN ARMY INVADES LONDON :)

A "supreme" Kermit the frog has been spotted in several locations around London. I wonder who's behind this ;)
Apparently Kermit has made his appearence in other cities simultanously: Tokyo, LA and NYC.
What is he up to?
I am lazy as usual... check this link if you want to know more http://www.hypebeast.com/node/21832
